Hum-a-Flow
Mycotoxin Binder
A combination of hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate, the natural humates, humic and fulvic acids, and mannose oligosaccharides derived from the cell wall of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae for use in animal feeds as a mycotoxin binder.
Features & Benefits
Humate Technology
• Contains a unique, synergistic blend of three proven, mycotoxin binding elements
• Effectively binds a wide range of mycotoxins commonly produced by the Aspergillus and Fusaria molds
• Reduces the detrimental effects of mycotoxins on the performance of the animals
• Very small particle size provides a large surface area for maximum binding capacity
• Effective toxin binder across a broad spectrum of animal species and mycotoxins
• Stable during feed handling and storage for an extended period of time
• Provides prebiotic effect by improving immunity and promoting growth
• Effective at low inclusion rates
• Low-cost, complex binding solution
• Safe to add to all feeds with no residue or withdrawal concerns
• All ingredients are GRAS certified (Generally Recognized As Safe)
• Manufactured in the United States of America

hscas + mos + humates
An in vitro trial was done to evaluate the mycotoxin binding capacity of Hum-A-Flow against several of the more commonly found mycotoxins present in animal feeds.
Hydrated Sodium Calcium Aluminosilicate (HSCAS) and Mannose Oligosacchariedes (MOS) have both been shown to be effective in binding mycotoxins in animal feeds to reduce the detrimental effects of those mycotoxins on the performance of the animal. More recently, natural humates such as humic acid have been shown to also have benefits in controlling mycotoxins. Hum-A-Flow is a product which contains all three of these mycotoxin binders.
Procedure
- The mycotoxins alfatoxin, T-2 toxin, fumonisin, and zearalenone, which are commonly found mycotoxins in animal feeds, were examined in the trial
- Each of the mycotoxins was evaluated at a level of 500 ppb
- Hum-A-Flow was added to the mycotoxins at a rate of 0.10% and 0.20% inclusion rates
- The trial was conducted by evaluating the levels of toxins bound at a pH of 4.0 after which the pH was raised to 6.0 (to simulate the animal’s intestinal tract) and the levels of toxins that remained strongly bound were measured
Results & Discussion
• Examination of the results shows that the combination of mycotoxin binding
components utilized in Hum-A-Flow proved very effective in binding all of the commonly encountered mycotoxins tested in this trial, especially at the 0.20% inclusion rate
• Hum-A-Flow is very beneficial for reducing the detrimental effects of
mycotoxins when added to animal feeds

superior mycotoxin binding capacity
An in vitro trial was conducted to measure and compare the mycotoxin binding efficacies of Hum-A-Flow, Alumi-Flow, and Myco-Power against four mycotoxins commonly found in animal feeds.
Procedure
- The four commonly found mycotoxins in animals feeds utilized in the trial were Alfatoxin, T-2 Toxin, Fumonisin, and Zearalenone; all were included at a level of 500 ppb
- The three (3) mycotoxin binder products utilized in the trial were Alumi-Flow, Myco-Power, and Hum-A-Flow; all were included at a level of 0.1%
- The trial was conducted by a procedure which first measured the levels of the mycotoxins bound at a pH of 3.5 after which the pH was raised to 6.0 and the levels of each mycotoxin which remained bound by each of the products was measured
- These levels of each of the mycotoxins still bound at pH 6.0 were considered to be strongly bound by the mycotoxin binder product
Table 1: Mycotoxin Binding Capacity Comparison: Hum-A-Flow, Alumi-Flow, and Myco-Power
Results & Discussion
• Examination of the results listed above shows that Alumi-Flow was extremely effective in binding aflatoxins but as the case with the HSCAS mycotoxin binders, had limited ability to bind any of the the other mycotoxins
• With the Hum-A-Flow product, which contains a combination of the HSCAS, the humates humic and fulvic acids, and mannose oligosaccharides, the high ability to bind
aflatoxins was maintained but in addition, the levels of the other three toxins were greatly increased
• However, the highly concentrated mannose oligosaccharide product, Myco-Power, proved to be the most effective of the three products evaluated.
• Clearly Hum-A-Flow is a very well-rounded, complex, and effective mycotoxin binder for all livestock feed applications
